LTWC Groundbreaking Ceremony

LTWC is getting a new home!

After nearly 40 years of operating in the home of its founders, Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care is thrilled to announce plans for our new and expanded location!

The new 27-acre site will include a state-of-the-art animal care facility as well as larger and more sophisticated enclosures, allowing us to care for–and successfully release–more injured and orphaned animals.

Bear cubs

Help Our Cubs

Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care is the only facility in Northern California that is permitted to care for injured and orphaned black bear cubs. We raise these cubs until they are able to survive on their own as wild bears.

Registration for the 2015 LTWC Training Seminar is closed

February 11, 2015. Registration for the 2015 LTWC Training Seminar is now closed. Thank you to everyone who signed up – we look forward to seeing you on May 16 & 17!

LTWC holds this 2-day seminar each year to train volunteers to care for injured and orphaned wild birds and animals. Once they have completed it, volunteers may sign up to care for wildlife at LTWC.
