This year Wild & Free will move to a new location\, at the beautiful Valhalla Tahoe. \n  \nSince our inception nearly 40 years ago\, Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care has successfully released over 17\,000 birds and animals to their native habitats. We work every day\, all year to ensure orphaned and injured animals can live “Wild & Free.”

DESCRIPTION:Training Session #1 – Classroom Education\nMay 4\, 2019 – 9am-1pm \nThe 2019 Training Sessions are full. Those who signed up to attend our 2019 Volunteer Training Session #1 are invited to attend this half-day education. \nSession details will be emailed to registered participants. Please contact us at 530.577.2273 with any questions. \n\n\nOur wildlife volunteers help feed\, care for\, transport and release the wild birds and animals that LTWC receives. Our seminar teaches wildlife diets\, feeding techniques\, housing\, first aid\, capture and transportation\, anatomy and examination\, and more. \nThe two-day seminar is split into two sessions. Training Session #1 is a class that provides information about our local wildlife. Training Session #2 is a hands-on training course. \nThose who wish to volunteer to care for birds and animals at our facility must take both sessions (hands-on volunteers must be at least 16 years old). \n

Please check back for more information on our 2017 class.  \nInterested in helping LTWC care for injured and orphaned birds and animals? \nAttend the LTWC Training Seminar to learn how to become a trained wildlife care volunteer! At the end of this two-day seminar\, you’ll have learned about wildlife diets\, feeding techniques\, housing\, first aid\, capture and transportation\, anatomy and examination\, and more — all the training you need to help care for the birds and animals at LTWC. \nThe seminar is $75 for the first family member and $55 for each additional family member. You must make payment before registration is complete. \nChildren must be at least 16 years old to register\, and those under 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
