Ozzy came into human care in 2019 when he was brought to Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care. He could not be released into the wild but seemed like an excellent candidate for education so he joined LTWC’s ambassador team where he became a star pupil! Ozzy does best with small groups but is an enthusiastic participant in training sessions and loves loading into his crate to go out and fly.
The American Kestrel is North America’s smallest and most colorful falcon. Easily identifiable by its striking plumage, males, like Ozzy, boast vibrant slate-blue wings and a rusty-red back, while the females, like Tippi, have a rusty-red back and wings with bold black stripes.
