Development & Communications Manager

Schedule: This is a full-time position that follows a 40-hour work week with the possibility of partial remote work. Typical hours are Monday-Friday during daytime hours, with some work required on occasional evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Compensation: Hourly, non-exempt position with a starting pay range of $24-$27 per hour, based on experience. Includes 80 hours of paid time off, 5 days of sick leave, and holiday pay.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Development & Communications Manager reports to and works collaboratively with the Executive Director to advance LTWC’s fundraising and communications goals. This role supports all areas of development, including major gifts, planned giving, grant management, fundraising events, corporate sponsorships, and annual fund campaigns. The Manager also helps ensure that all external communications align with LTWC’s brand, strengthen our reputation in the community, and effectively engage supporters. Administrative Assistant

Schedule & Compensation : This is a part time, non‑exempt position of 12 hours per week, consisting of two 6‑hour shifts. The starting pay is $17.00 – $18.50 per hour depending on experience.

Wildlife Education & Care Coordinator

Schedule: This is an on-site, full-time, year-round position following a non-traditional work week of Wednesday through Sunday. Evening and weekend work is required, with evening shifts expected during the busy season.

Compensation: Hourly, non-exempt position starting at $20-$22/hr, depending on experience. The position includes 80 hours of paid time off (PTO), holidays pay, and 5 days of sick time annually.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care (LTWC) is seeking a Wildlife Educator & Rehabilitation Coordinator. This hybrid position is designed to align with LTWC’s busiest operational periods, shifting focus throughout the year to best support education, ambassador animal care, and rehabilitation needs.

From May through September, this role focuses primarily on leading youth education camps, delivering outreach and on-site programs, with continuing and training and handling LTWC’s animal ambassadors year-round. During this period, the position also provides assisted relief support to the Wildlife Rehabilitation team, including routine animal care, intake and humane euthanasia as needed during peak intake times.

From October through April, the focus shifts toward education program development, curriculum planning, and ambassador training, while providing more consistent hands-on support to the Wildlife Rehabilitation department. This position reports to the Wildlife Care Manager and works closely with the Community Programs Coordinator to ensure seamless integration between education, ambassador animal care, and rehabilitation operations.

Seasonal Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician

Schedule: We are hiring for 3 full-time positions and 1 part-time position. The positions are seasonal, following a non-traditional work week, typically running from late April to late September/October, depending on the needs of the organization. POSITION SUMMARY:

Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care (LTWC) is seeking a Seasonal Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician to support animal care shifts as part of our rehabilitation and release program. Responsibilities include animal intake, daily care, enrichment, diet preparation, assisting with releases, and maintaining daily cleanliness of the hospital, including laundry and dishes. This position reports directly to the Wildlife Care Manager. Additional duties include training volunteers and interns, participating in educational events, and answering LTWC phones.
