Wildlife Care Internship
Location: 1551 Al Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, CA, 96150
Time Frame: Two terms lasting 12 weeks, involving 8 hours per day and 3 shifts per week.
- 1st Term: May-August 2024
- 2nd Term: July-October 2024
Compensation: This is an unpaid volunteer position, and participation in our internship program does not guarantee paid employment with us in the future.
Intern Position Overview: Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care Interns will have the opportunity to learn and experience the roles and responsibilities of care center staff by observing and assisting with a wide variety of daily operations, including treatment and care of injured and recovering wildlife, public outreach, record keeping and enclosure maintenance. An approximate breakdown of those duties can be found below, but is subject to change depending on the season and needs of the center.
