Amid the COVID 19 (coronavirus) pandemic, LTWC is accepting injured and orphaned wildlife. Please read this special notice regarding our policies during this time.

The safety of our staff, volunteers, and community is paramount to LTWC, so we are taking steps to keep everyone safe while remaining open for animal intake and rehabilitation.

If you find an orphaned or injured animal in need of help, please call the center at 530.577.2273 (CARE). Please do not come to the center without calling. Our staff will discuss safe drop off protocols with you by phone.

This policy includes all members of the general public as well as rescuers and volunteers. By calling first, you will help our staff maintain social distancing best practices during this time.

Please only call us regarding orphaned or injured wildlife or other urgent matters. If you have a non-urgent question or concern, please email sally@ltwc.org. This will help keep our very limited staff from being overwhelmed with phone calls.

In order to continue to serve our community and our wildlife population, LTWC will be operating over the next several weeks with staff only. Our priority is to keep our animal care team healthy and safe so they can continue to focus on caring for our residents. The LTWC board is so grateful for our animal care team, volunteers and donors. Thank you so much for your support. We could not operate without you! We will continue to communicate with you all via social media.

Stay safe and healthy!
